Downloading Files & Folders
Downloading a File
To download an individual file, right-click on the file in the file tree and select Download from the context menu. The file is downloaded to the local file system through the browser's standard download mechanism. The downloaded file reflects the version at the current snapshot of the selected branch - if the file has been modified in a more recent snapshot, the downloaded version corresponds to the snapshot currently displayed in the file explorer.
Downloading a Folder
To download an entire folder and its contents, right-click on the folder in the file tree and select Download from the context menu. The folder is packaged as a ZIP archive containing the complete directory structure and all files within it. The ZIP archive is then downloaded to the local file system.
Folder downloads include all nested subfolders and their contents recursively. The directory structure within the ZIP archive mirrors the folder's structure in the file tree.
Snapshot Awareness
All downloads are snapshot-aware. The version of a file or folder that is downloaded corresponds to the state of the file system in the currently active snapshot. This ensures consistency between what is displayed in the file explorer and what is downloaded. The current snapshot hash, displayed in the file explorer footer, can be recorded to maintain a reference to the exact version that was downloaded.
TIP
When downloading files for audit or compliance purposes, record the snapshot hash displayed in the file explorer footer. This hash uniquely identifies the exact version of the file system from which the download was performed.
