What is mutexer
Mutexer is a cloud based platform that allows any Linux-capable device to run hard real time code suitable for industrial applications.
Code can be deployed directly from the cloud, enhanced by large language models, cloud storage and compute.
The high-level broad features of the mutexer platform are listed below.
Mutexer offers two AI development tools. They target the same work from different places, and many teams use both.

Oasis CLI
Oasis CLI is a command line AI development tool. It is a harness that runs agent turns in a terminal on the machine doing the work, rather than in a browser.
It ships as a single static binary with no runtime to install, so it can be copied onto a workstation or an industrial PC and run directly.
Its tool surface reaches past the filesystem and onto the plant. Modbus, OPC UA and EtherCAT are tool calls, alongside the usual file, shell and search tools.
TIP
Oasis CLI never dials a baked-in address. You supply the model endpoint yourself, so nothing leaves your network unless you point it out. Every write it makes is recorded in an append-only audit log.

Magnum Coder
Magnum Coder is a web based AI development environment for industrial automation applications. It runs entirely in your browser, so there is nothing to install on your own machine.
It does require the agent on the device you are targeting. The agent is what receives a deployment and runs the program, so a device has to be connected before you can build, deploy or run anything.
It supports the Python programming language and can remotely deploy code to any device anywhere.
Magnum Coder is made up of two key parts.
File editor that allows creating, viewing, editing files.
Deployment pipeline that pushes programs and files from the cloud to the device.
TIP
Magnum Coder supports deploying code that is hard real time. This makes it suitable for machine control, process automation and robotics where tight time constraints are required.
Agents
Agents are programs that run natively on devices. They control and monitor sub-programs, receive deployments from the cloud, and report telemetry back to it.
From agent version 1.0.24, an agent is built as a hardened Core runtime with optional capabilities layered on top. Core covers deployment, logging, device control and Horizon Zero Trust. Remote access is opt-in and chosen when the agent is installed.
CloudLink adds an encrypted WireGuard tunnel for remote network access.
Remote terminal adds an interactive browser shell that runs as root on the device.
TIP
An agent installed as Core carries neither capability, which keeps its attack surface as small as the deployment allows. Capabilities are fixed when the agent is built, so changing them means reinstalling the agent.

CloudLink
CloudLink is a VPN remote access system that allows all sorts of devices, on prem or in the cloud, to be networked together. It is very lightweight, fast and highly reliable. It's based on wireguard and provides a very simple way to setup what would normally be very complex.
TIP
Devices on CloudLink can be setup as relays to allow local network access to other peers. In effect acting as a passthrough for local traffic to the cloud and beyond.
Horizon
Horizon is a Zero Trust access control and security monitoring service. It exposes internal services running on a device to the public internet without you having to manage firewalls, DNS records, TLS certificates or reverse proxy infrastructure.
Each exposed service is called a circuit, and every circuit receives its own publicly accessible domain. Access policies, IP filtering and full request logging apply to every circuit.
TIP
Horizon suits web based HMIs, monitoring dashboards and configuration panels that need to be reachable from outside the site without opening the site network up to do it.
Version Control
Version Control is a file management and versioning service built into the platform. It presents a project's files as a browsable tree and records every file operation as a transaction, with attribution, timestamps and a unique hash.
It is built on three concepts: branches are independent versions of the project's file system, snapshots are immutable point-in-time records of a branch, and transactions are the individual change records that make up its history.
TIP
Industrial workflows need traceability and the ability to roll back to a known-good state. Version Control provides both without a separate tool to integrate.
Atlas
Atlas creates on demand Virtual Machines (VMs) hosted in the mutexer cloud. Various configurations are available.
TIP
Atlas VMs when used in conjunction with CloudLink and Magnum Coder provide a powerful remote compute backbone. This can free up physical devices to focus on hard realtime compute locally, while the VMs can churn through the workloads remotely.
