Network Limitations

This section outlines important network level limitations of CloudLink. It is very important to understand the implications to your application.

Network Changes

Changing the configuration of the network by installing, uninstalling and modifying an installed relay will trigger and network update.

INFO

Adding a device, virtual machine, Wireguard Peer or Other Peer will not trigger a network update.

DANGER

A network update will cause the entire network to restart. This means any active connections through CloudLink will stop temporarily.

Typically, this process should take less than 1 minute to complete.

Firewall Rules

Certain features may be limited due to firewall rules configured on machines that are in the CloudLink network.

A list of known limitations below.

• Ping (ICMP): Blocked on Windows machines by default.
• UDP/TCP: All inbound connections will be blocked on Windows machines by default.
