Adding & Removing Peers

This section covers how Peers can be added and removed.

There are two types of Peers.

• Wireguard Peers: Active member of the network via Wireguard client software.
• Other Peers: Passive member of the network accessed via network Relay.

The adding process is different for each type while the removal process is the same.

Adding Wireguard Peer

A Wireguard Peer is where the Wireguard client software is installed with a valid configuration from CloudLink.

To add a Wireguard Peer follow the steps below.

1. Download and install the Wireguard client.

To download the Wireguard client software please visit wireguard.com.

2. Navigate to the CloudLink window within the project.
3. Click on "Add" in the Peers table.
4. Name the Peer.
5. Select the radio button corresponding to Wireguard Peer.
6. Click Add. At this point the Wireguard Peer will be instantly created.
7. Click on the 3 dots in the table corresponding to the Peer that was created and select "Download Config" from the dropdown. The download of the configuration file will start immediately.
8. Upload the configuration file to the Wireguard client software installed from step 1.
9. Activate the connection.

The connection will be created at that point and the device can begin communication with the network.

Removing Wireguard Peer

To remove the Wireguard Peer follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the CloudLink window within the project.
2. Click on the 3 dots in the table corresponding to the Peer to be removed and from the dropdown select "Remove".

DANGER

This action cannot be undone. Once the Peer is removed the connection will immediately stop.

Adding Other Peer

A Other Peer is where a Device is available on the network via a Relay but takes a passive role.

Adding a Other Peers does not require any software to be installed on the host machine.

To add a Other Peer follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the CloudLink window within the project.
2. Click on "Add" in the Peers table.
3. Name the Peer.
4. Select the radio button corresponding to Other Peer.
5. Add the IP address of the Peer.
6. Click Add. At this point the Other Peer will be instantly created.

Removing Other Peer

To remove the Other Peer follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the CloudLink window within the project.
2. Click on the 3 dots in the table corresponding to the Peer to be removed and from the dropdown select "Remove".

WARNING

Although the Other Peer has been removed from being a named member of the CloudLink network it will still be reachable on the network itself.
